Numerous studies have proven that high-quality early education programs promote social and emotional development in children, which is critical to their future success in school and life. In addition, comprehensive preschool programs capitalize on the skills and knowledge that children are already developing. Children begin learning the moment they are born, and the years from age 3 to 6 set the foundation for much of what children will learn in kindergarten, the first and second grade and beyond.
The Childhood League Center’s Preschool Program features licensed early childhood special education teachers, teacher assistants, League volunteers and therapists working together to promote collaborative, inquiry-based learning and skill development. The Center’s team of teachers and therapists take an innovative, multi-sensory approach to learning, using developmentally appropriate materials and methods. Children with and without developmental delays, ages 3 to 6 years, grow with confidence and understanding as partners in learning.
