Early Intervention

Early Intervention Program

Research indicates that the earliest days, weeks and months of child’s life are a period of unparalleled growth when trillions of brain cell connections are made. Health and development are directly influenced by the quality of care and experiences a child has with adults. Simply put, early experiences matter, particularly to a child who has been identified as having a developmental delay. Early Intervention is provided to infants and toddlers who have been identified with a developmental delay in one of the following areas of development: physical, cognitive, adaptive, communicative, or social and/or emotional.

The Childhood League Center’s Early Intervention Program is designed to improve outcomes for children under age 3 by providing early, appropriate and intensive interventions. Licensed early intervention special education teachers, teacher assistants, League volunteers and therapists work collaboratively to promote children’s increased mobility, social engagement, active learning and discovery. Some of the Center’s EI classes are also open to typically developing peers.
